I guess Im just jinxed at the moment, Ive never had any real build problems and seem to be going from one to the next at the moment.

Last night I got my new mobo setup, after a wierd problem where it refused to get as far as the BIOS after I installed the sound card, I got it all working, or so i thought.....

Bunged in Vista disk and went to install, deleted the partitions on the Raptor 74gb main boot disk and the second disk. Went to format the Raptor..nothing total lock, eventually after about 5 mins Vista takes it off the list so I cannot see it. I did manage to partition and format the second disk, but it wouldnt install as it wasn't the primary.

So I reset pc, disconnect the second disk, and try again, same thing with the Raptor, its in the list but as soon as I try to format same, locked hourglass then eventually its removed from the drive list.

Hmmm I think maybe a problem (has had vista on it before though so a week ago, so I cant see its buggered). So I unplug the raptor and replug the storage disk, this gets detected properly, I figure ok will not partition just try to install vista, so I format it as one big disk, takes like 20 secs hmm suspicious, and then install, it gets as far as finalising the installation, so its copied unpacked etc all those stages and then locks.

Im pretty bemused on this one, I know, well pretty much that the raptor is ok as it worked last week in my iffy mobo (wouldnt run in dual channel otehrise fine) but on the new board its just not playing. BIOS etc sees it but Vista doesnt like it.

System :
Abit IP35
E6750
Geil pc6400 4-4-4-12 2x1GB ultra
Raptor 74
WD 400GB forget exact model
SATA DVD

Was thinking of trying to format the Raptor under XP to see if its formatted there it will work to install Vista, whole thing seems a little iffy to me, any ideas if I may have missed something obvious?

Oh used SATA ports 1-3, 1 was raptor, 2 other HDD, 3 DVD

Must admit I didnt spend a long time on it as I had had enough, but never had any issues with Disks before, also never installed Vista though tbh!
