New system build can I just install Windows 10?

Is it now possible to jump right into windows 10 instead of installing windows 7 or 8.1 first?

no, it has to be upgraded first from an activated 7/8.1

Yes, if you have a valid license I believe. The November update allows the use of a windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 retail key to install. Or buy a win10 license.

You may need to use phone activation.

I did it yesterday from the iso/ mct downloaded the day before,try activating comes back with error code xxx, Microsoft error code says it has to be activated as an upgrade to 7/8.1 first.
No biggie , vanilla 7sp1 installed (didn't bother with patches or chipset drivers etc), activated, then upgraded to w10, which then activated ok

It should activate with a win 7 / 8 key if you are on build 1511. I installed fresh and waited for a month for the TH2 to release so I could activate.
