New system - Help with benchmarking..?

Hi All,

Ive recently bought a new system, i7 920, h50, Asus p6td, intel ssd & 6gb ocz reaper.

I am not familiar with the benchmarking software can someone please help me to check if my system is running Ok? And under pressure..

Here is a screenshot of a sensor test using RealTemp&Prime95. Is this a CPU load test? And can someone please explain it and if is working ok..

that's just your cpu temps at idle.

For cpu stress testing, download prime95 and let it run for a few hours.

For gpu, download 3dmark and just loop the benchmark.

When u click Sensor Test it loads Prime95...? and runs a test for 10mins?

Ive got Prime95 so what to do i do? And what else do i need to test? Just my CPU & Temps?

If you have a DX10 card you'll want to get 3D Mark Vantage. If not use 3D Mark 2006, or if greedy use both.

Im not bothered about Games or clocking at the minute I just want to make sure my CPU is set right and my system is running as it should be at stock.. Can anyone please explain what I do exactly to test it?

This to make sure it does not overheat (very important).

You can run super pi for easy benchmarks? Otherwise find a review of your i7 and what software is used to test it and then run the tests yourself.

Prime95 comes with a torture test that runs until the user stops it.

Ideally, you'd want to run it for 2-3 hours non stop.

It'll stress your cpu and ram and check for overheating/stability.

It's not a benchmark but more of a stress test.

So which test do I need to run in Prime95? Blend? And will it report the results and/or stop if temps are getting too high? Should I stop it if it goes over a certain temp?

Afraid so. Your max rated temp should be available with you CPU tech data. It should be quite high I reckon.
