Yes the 2600k is faster, but the 1366 CPU's are SO much more *fun* to overclock.

you never know, it might reduce temps a little.

the only non ridiculous way of upgrading your rig would be to get a new case, and to watercool it. wont be much of a boost in performance, but it should make it quieter

But it will look nice (especially from the description of your current case) and will just last years and years.

How big is your current case? because things are getting bigger and bigger, or will you just Dremel the case to death to make things fit?
