Hey all,

So i just purchased some new kit from oc uk and im having a bit of trouble with it, and so i was wondering if anyone could help...

I purchased a core2 quad q6600, asus p5kc, 4GB 1000mhz ocz reaper x, 150gb wd raptor and 620w corsair psu. I had an x1950 pro to fit in so that the setup as it stands. I installed vista ultimate yesterday, but i have since had a lot of random crashes and 2 blue screens.

The temperatures of the board and memory are fine according to everest. The bluescreens i recieved produced the following crashdumps : -

The first crashdump refers to a windows vista system kernal, whilst the second referes to graphics card drivers. I have done a bit of research on both, but to little avail. The second one is more common, but most of the bluescreen errors i can find with it are in game, i was simply listening to music and staring at the desktop :S.

The other crashes i have had are however predominantly (but not always) in game, perticullarly world of warcraft (though age of conan has also crashed too).

Any help you could give me would be brilliant, and dont hesitate to ask about anything else. Its really bugging me, and im not sure where to go from here.

Quick update, just ran a system stability test in everest, after 06:58 seconds it stopped the test reporting a hardware failure :(. Anyone know how i can find out what the failure was?

sorry should have been more clear, i think the bios on the asus supplies 1.8v to the ram at standard (my p5k did anyways) your ram needs 2.1v so that would probably cause some problems

ahh. Well im currently running mem test, see what that comes out with... After that i will up the voltage to 2.1v :) Thanks for the idea :).

Well no more bluescreens as yet, but firefox keeps crashing :S....hmm. I will update if anoything more happens...Im open to any more ideas in the meentime...

I had that just yesterday. It was seriously annoying. But I worked it out .

All my problem was that my flash plugin was old and needed updating , head over to the Shockwave Site and update your FLASH plugin. Not your Shockwave player. All it was doing was when it loaded a site with flash in , it crashed. Link at bottom. ;)

See if that helps :D
Link :D

That fixed my problem. But it may not be that ..Glad to hear your Pc is not blue screening anymore though :D

Cheers for the link, il give it a go and see how its going. Still get the feeling something is wrong though, and more and more i think its something to do with my graphics card. May try a reinstall :S

Ok guys, heres an update :).

Since upping the memory voltage to 2.1v, the system is not bluescreening any more. Thanks very much kearney. However i keep getting "The graphics card driver has stopped and has been recovered using VPU recover" now whilst in game. Also some stutturing in game. The card was (as far as im aware) fine in windows xp so this is a new one for me. Any ideas guys? Using latest cats.
