New system, New forum member

Hey guys,

This is my first post here, Im a student from N.Ireland, just started my first year of an HND in computing (networking and programming mainly)

Decided to join up as i just ditched my faithfull old laptop and splashed out on a new desktop. Im interested in overclocking it, altho iv never done it before, so doing a lot of research atm!


anyway, i decided on a dell Studio desktop

Specs:
-Q6600 quad core processor 2.4ghz, 8mb cache, 1066mhz fsb
-4gb Ram
-750gb Hdd
-256mb Ati Radeon HD 3650 graphics card
-Vista home premium
-24" widescreen HD monitor
-Logitech x540 5.1 surround sound speakers
-logitech MX3200 cordless keyboard n mouse


Plans for it are:
- to upgrade the graphics card as i feel this is its weak point.
- overclocking possibly



Has anyone any other suggestions / comments?

yea... already bought it, should be delivered tomorow actually

Your right, it does void the warranty, but i think overclocking does as well

Also ive read that the Q6600 can be overclocked to 3.5, which is quite a jump from the standard 2.4
