New system, old HD

I'm just about to by a new sytem for my first build, I will be buying a new OS and HD for it.

What I'm wondering is if I could also install my OLD HD from my current system and then move my files etc over to the new HD. Would this cause any major problems? all I realy want to transfer over is music/pictures/documents etc and a few game addon/save files which are pretty large.

Any info would be good, or advice on the best wasy to accomplish this as well.

Yep, you should be able to do it OK. Just make sure you're motherboard has compatable connectors, depending on type of HD.

Whilst I'm not expert, I would only install it once you've got your new sytem up and running as it will have old OS files on it.
