new system

Hi all
I'm looking at building a new system currently using a Q9550 on an old asus mb that doesn't support crossfire.
I'm looking at replacing CPU, memory and MB as I have a good antec case and 700w psu.
budget is tight so i will reuse the 5770 i have at the moment, maybe in crossfire mode until that can be afforded.
I would prefer an Intel solution and don't want to scrimp much on the CPU as the intention is to keep it for a while.
The main use will be for gaming, but I'm totally out of date with all the latest cpu's and mother boards. It would be nice to have an sli / crossfire board but not if it's going to up the price a lot.
So any advice welcome and thanks in advance.

i5 2500k / msi p67a gd53 / 4gb ram / good cooler /. should come to around £350 (rough estimate with my head)

about £400 less is always nice but can't go much more, the less it is the sooner i can get a better gpu.

Thanks guys that looks pretty good.
I'm surprised at the low cost of the memory, is it worth getting that x 2 for 8 gig or is it better for just 2 matched moduals?

two matched modules always better.
