Hallo.

Have no idea about the market atm and need help building a new system, budget of around £800 - £1000.

Will be gaming on ASUS 27" 2560x1440 screen and will be playing games such as WoW, Assassin's creed titles, FPS games etc.

Looking to future proof for a while say 2-3 years.

Thanks in advance.

You'll want an R9 290 or GTX 780 to run that resolution capably, and at least an i5-4670K (which is not too different from the slightly newer i5-4690K), and 8GB RAM, and an SSD, so here's a start:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 OC WindForce 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-R929OC-4GD) £329.99
1 x MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Intel Core i5 DIY ATX Motherboard Upgrade Kit £329.93
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £74.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59.99
1 x Antec GX500 Midi-Tower - Black £43.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £42.98
1 x Alpenföhn Brocken ECO CPU-Kühler - 120 mm £24.95
1 x OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £10.99
Total : £1,012.80 (includes shipping : £12.50).

The Z97's are the latest Intel chipset motherboards.

There are also two interesting B-Grade GPU's, if you want even more power for that budget and don't mind buying opened/used items.
