Not yet, I wanted to see what 4.2.2 was like, it's pretty light on bloated real out of the box

Rooting was easy for me on the Z, though not sure if they pushed an update which broke that rooting method. Take a look in the Z thread on here.

Ok, will do, is it the same principle as rooting a droid phone? I.e. Install that boot Rom thing CPW or something, back up and root?

Run a program on PC, click a button on the tablet, reboot and it's done.

Searching XDA it seems you don't even need to unlock the bootloader. This seems to be the easiest method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460

And then once you're rooted, install OTA RootKeeper and it will restore your root whenever an OTA update happens, meaning you don't need to do the entire rooting method again.

You can do the manual method of unlocking the bootloader and flashing custom recovery to flash the superuser app, but this may stop you from receiving OTA updates.
