I can't run more than one SMP at a time, the second stream gives file_io issues, so I've reverted to just running one and a separate fah instance

i have it in a seperate folder on a seperate drive and running no problems. However make sure when you run the initial setup.bat file that you name both instances as different machine id's.

I made the error of having them the same number and it doesn't work so make sure you give them seperate machine i.ds and they should work fine

Yes each in a seperate folder

Lovely, cheers for that, got them both running now.

/Edit Just a quick question about having the 2 instances running (so as to not start a new thread), what is the main advantage for running 2 instances on 4 cores as opposed to just the single one? I only ask because i have had them both running for about 20mins and both have just gone up 1 percent, taking 16mins 16secs on one and 16mins 26secs on the other.

When i had just one instance running, it was taking about 8mins 20 for each percent, so it looks like there is an increase in output by about 20secs per %. Is this about right?

Have just had a look in FaHmon and it has now gone up to 4384 PPD from about 3070, so looks like i have just answered my own question above :S. Sorry about that.

doubt that it will do 4k per day - maybe still showing your old WU's etc from your standard client as well as both your current ones as well.

I will get 3k per day running 2 smp clients @ 3.1ghz.

Generally yes - slightly quicker per % than 1 single SMP client.

I'm getting around the 16min 20 sec mark also per % for your reference
