New tech in old system

I'm thinking of getting a new graphics card,something like a GTX660 3GB. The plan will be to transrfer it to a new build in th near future. Will I run into problems with bios etc if I put it in my Abit IX38 board?
Bit concerned as I have seen a few posts about with people having issues and being told to update their bios.

You've probably already seen this thread but it shows a bios update will solve any issues you may run into.

You not confident in updating your BIOS?

Depending on the board the bios update might not do the job
If the flash memory on your motherboard is small there is little chance they have the space to store code for new videocards
My old board had bios support up to HD 5000 series or Phenom II CPU not both

Problem is my board is an Abit IX38. No new bios from Abit aFAIK.
edit: Hadn't seen that thread at evga so thanks Doomedspeed! Looks like it can be made to wok.

Check the thread I linked, the guy had the sane board as you and found a beta bios that helped him run it..

Yep just read it.A shame he didn't mention what bios it is though! EO stepping is the latest so I'll probably give that a go,
