New Thermaltake tower cases

omg lol

it's like a vento

The pneumatic (I think) on the case is pointless, just adds to cost or detracts from build quality to keep the price down, its my usual argument for Thermaltake.

This looks like a step back for Thermaltake, they were getting good with the last batch!

I will give them chance to prove themselves, you never know the pictured case could actually be very good; although doubtful. :p

And a case worse than the Vento is doubtful, a £100 case that can't cool a PC well at all, noisey and resonates with the quirk of falling apart, not even Thermaltake managed that with a Xaser III!

... and they both suck. Mind you, at least it's not green.

I don't really have time for gimmicks that add nothing to the case (i.e. the pnuematics and the 'alien'), although I'm not one for talking about case design having lived with beige boxes for years (recently replaced with stackers).

Go nomadic with the features and get a Lian Li. :p

Stackers have power buttons, taking it way to far, shorting the pins on the motherboard is the future!

Take it original stackers, not the 830 rubbish they have at the moment...?

Like my server at the moment? No power button, or front bezel, or 3.5" drivebays, or casefans, or cd drive. Its pure minimalism :D

Are you asking if its in a shoebox? If so, then the answer is no. Its in an old beige ATX case that I completely stripped down with the intention of making look decent.
Edit; And its a good piece of evidence that your theory on silencing a computer is hardly affected by the case is right. Its a box standard steel atx case with no front, and its very nearly silent. The loudest thing in it is the single harddrive. Ive 5volted the cpu fan and psu fan, and the gpu is passive. Cpu runs at about 30degrees. :)

Yeh until its proven by pics it is a shoebox. :p

Some great old beige boxes about, but they are usually far out numbered by the bad ones.

Pics would be nice, I just use a Cheiffy Scorpio for my server/backup rig.

Not much to look at really. As you see, i tried silencing the harddrive getto style, but it wasnt very successfull. Its an old drive caddy padded with thick roofing felt to dampen the sound. The fan on top doesnt really do much either, but is 5 volted. I cant show you and speedfan pics at the moment, as the server is off, and i cant really be bothered turning it on tbh.
