I realise this is the second time in a short timespan I create a thread like this, but I'm really trying to get into it :)

I hope you will be as helpful as last time.

So, what could I improve for less £? Where did I make a horrible mistake? Where am I getting ripped off?

What? I assumed this was post build, not before. This is exactly the same thread concept as all the other 'spec me' threads.

Get the UD5 if you're overclocking.
The soundcard is unlikely to be worth having if it costs £37, so drop that to fund the above.
If those fans are going on the case, get the S version that's actually meant to be case fans. Failing that, the scythe case fans are very good.

Id personally get one graphics card instead of two, and only crossfire it if unhappy with performance in games.

@demonfatality, your gaming experience on that will be terrible as you have no screen

The title was just a pethetic attempt at being ironic.

I'll take out the sound card and find new fans. And consider a 295. Thanks for looking at it.

I take it you mean as good as my gaming experience would be with my spec :)

Our specs (I'll call it that instead of builds, since it's not built) cost about the same. The difference is mine has a 400£ monitor.

Better than the original spec, but I wouldn't spend that much, £1000 will get you a system nearly as good.

i wouldnt buy the SSD they are far to pricey .2 1tb in raid 0 maybe abetter option ,and do you really need such a large psu .cash saved could be used towards a better optical drive eg blu-ray..but this is only a personal choice .xfire 4890s good choice...not sure but the asus mobo may need a bios update for xfire ati cards

You're spending budget is £1,800 and you want to save a few pounds???

Not sure why you would want 2 x 4890s to be honest. I'd buy a single version then upgrade to the new cards when they arrive.

Personally i'd rather get a GTX295 over any ATI!

Oh and btw i hate you lol, i'm just saving me pennies ready for anew build around xmas, when the i7 and everything is cheaper (if it does that is), cos right now the price is amazing!

If your going to OC i'd defo recommend the gigabyte board u have ordered as custom PC has all the OC bios timings and figures to OC to 4.2Mhz stable.

If your spending this kind of money not getting an SSD for OS IMO is just plain silly. Fast CPU, fast graphics, slow HDD = FAIL. Besides why would you need 2x1TB drives?

Why? 2x4890's are faster than a 295 although for a single card solution the 295 is better.

Somehow I get the feeling your not an overclocker... this isn't quite how it works  each chip is different so a magical standard set of settings doesn't exist...

well you could always stick in 4 sata drives in raid 0 it would cost less and i do belive the performance gain in read an wright would be as good if not better than ssd
