Just after building a system up and working ok appart from the graphics card which is being RMA'd on monday lol
anyway looked at the asus website for a bios update and it has 8 versions there  dont know what to pick tbh
the version i have is 0803 which i found in msinfo32 i am just wondering what one i should download? i am guessing that i need to pick the one just after 0803 or can i just take the latest one?

also
u think installing the chipset driver will be beneficial? if so how is this done?
sorry for all the questions :(
regards

Unless the update has a specific feature you want, or fixes something that is broken, then you're best off leaving the BIOS alone. I'd never recommend updating the BIOS just for the sake of it.

To a lesser extent, the same applies to the chipset driver. If everything is working fine then I'd leave it alone. Whether you choose to upgrade them or not is personal preference, in which case you'd pick the latest one off the manufacturers website (you don't have to download and install them all in order)

I'd wait for the replacement card, download and install the latest drivers for it and if everything is running smoothly then job done.

Thanks for the advice mate :) it's a new build system my 1st one and it works with an old graphics card but won't boot at all with an his ati radeon 5770 :( have tried everything but was thinking that if I updates to the newest bios there would be a chance to get it to work before it gets picked up by the courier on Monday, i read on a website that there could be comparability isues with the chipset on certain boards (mine is an asus 770 pro ma4770) I am probably thinking too much :S lol

In contradiction. Asus boards are one of the easiest to flash as you actually do from within the BIOS itself. It's certainly NOT the black art it used to be 10/12 years ago.

Simply download the latest BIOS (dated), it will contain any and all previous fixes and features. Stick it onto a flash drive and boot into the BIOS and aim for the ASUS EZ Flash utility. This rest is literally childs play

+1 to what Lucero said

Gigabyte and Asus boards have a flashing tool in the bios (usually F8 or something)

Never flash from windows.

I've flashed the BIOS on an Asus board, very easy as Lucero states. Just need to hope you don't have a power glitch during the process...
