Case - NZXT BETA evo

Any help would be awesome :))

well most games only use a maximum of 4gb at the moment, so to save money you could go for 4gb's instead such as this and use the saving on that to get an ssd like the OCZ Vertex which will make your system boot very quickly. Also, you could drop the PSU down to an 850w unit

PSU is overkill, 650w / 750w would be fine, the board limits the second slot to 4x which would cripple the card.

So do you recon it would be worth paying extra £30 for the asus m4a89td pro 890fx ?. Is 750w enough to power Xfire with 2 6950's though ?

I'll tell you now, you probably won't ever go crossfire. Everyone always thinks mmm should I leave it open for crossfire. But when push comes to shove you never actually get that second card, you just keep upgrading the single card instead because it is usually the better choice.

Also as pointed out, if you are going to go crossfire, don't do it on a board that only supports x4 on the second slot. I however don't know enough about those mobos to tell you which is worth having.

You probably missed my ninja edit of the second point about the x4.

I also thought I might go sli or crossfire and never did in the end. I don't recomend it. It's more hassel than its worth and if you arn't running a 32" monitor (not tv) there is no need for it.

What resolution do you run at?

Soo ture....

All the best with this build and welcome to the fourm

Have you ever used a tv as a monitor before? They can be quite bad for reading text. Though i've never seen a 27inch running at 1980x1080 running as a pc screen so that might be a lot crisper but my 42" is terrible for reading text on when used as a pc screen and it was one of the best 42"s around at the time we bought it, although admitedly this was years ago.

I'd suggest checking it if you havn't already as you may wish to buy a monitor instead and that will change your budget.

Ive never gamed with it but ive used it for like watching films off my comp n stuff. But if it doesnt work out i think ill buy a 22inch lg monitor for like £100

Btw do you know if G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7 would be okay to go with the board ?
