New to overclocking.

just set prime running for its night session. Bit worried about leaving it running through night without watching temps but Im sure it will be ok.

If its stable ill be happy with 4.4Ghz O/C,
its still slightly faster than the first rig i built (DX4 100) lol.

Bleh, my D-14 was £70 and you beat it. :D

Akasa are nice, I remember my 965 BL was a very nice little cooler. Can't wait to get a window on my case. :p

58 is good, I only really play League of Legends and my system is complete overkill for it, my gpu gets to like 40c and cpu to about 44 lol. This is at about 600FPS. :D

Weird that I'm the only one to reply to this thread, was hoping someone would share some genius with us about how to lower our vcores by raising something else. :p

Lol, that is old! My first rig was when I took 2 broken Pentium 2 systems and made a working system out of it. I was 15 and had no idea what I was doing, I found out what the DC switch on the back of them old PSU's does. :D

BOOM!

yea i love the cooler. Was a little worried about it fitting cos its huge and iv got corsair vengeance ram with big heatsinks. Just managed to squeeze it in and the top of the cooler just touches the window on the case.
Still time yet for more people to comment. Would be nice to get the voltage down and get it up to 4.5. Seen videos on YouTube of people getting these chips up to 5.0 and 5.2Ghz but starting to think there fakes lol.

i was 11 when i built my first rig. luckily my dad was/is a very good electrician and his mate worked with hardware so i had a couple of very good teachers. Unfortunately i pulled away from the pc scene about 10 year ago and moved onto consoles and by the looks of things iv been completely left behind. This is my first rig since then which started off as a budget gaming rig at £600 and some how ended up spending £1200 and iv still not finished yet lol.

think iv had every console since master system. First master system i had was the one with the 3d glasses and the light gun. Was pretty impressive for the time.

Just past 8 hours of prime so should be pretty stable with max temp of 75. Was going to give it 8 hours of IBT while at work but as soon as i fired it up temps shot up to 85 on 2 cores so didnt dare leave it running.

sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm also new to overclocking and was wondering should I worry about WHEA errors? I got one after 10hrs of prime95 using the blendtest.

Using the following
i3570k
Z77X-D3H
8GB Corsair Vengenance LP
Thermaltake Frio Advance

setting in bios:
core voltage - 1.235
cpu multiplier - 44
memory - x.m.p profile 1
fans set to silent mode
everything else on auto

temperature of 75 under prime

Have you tried adding more core voltage or raise ram voltage slightly? It is possible that your ram can't run at it's XMP profile without a bit more juice, unlikely though.

HAHA! 10 runs of IBT is enough IMO 10 hours I'd have a fire extinguisher at hand. :D

Glad it passed that's great news and good temps!

Thought I'd update you on my current overclock.

Currently at 4.2GHz 1.16V under load! :D Stock is 1.1950V or 1.20V under load.

VCore - Normal -0.035V offset
Turbo Vcore 42
VTT 1.050V
PLL 1.500V

2133MHz Samsung CL9-11-11-21 1T 1.5V

LLC:
VCore Standard (for lowest vcore under load)
DDR A/B Extreme (It keeps my DDR voltages bang on 1.5V)
VTT Extreme (Keeps my VTT at 1.060V under load for stability)
IGPU Standard (Useless to me IGPU is disabled)
