Hi,

I'm looking at buying my first gaming PC. I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible but want to make sure it comfortably does what it needs to do. I primarily want to play PUBG and use
it for a bit of basic work so looking for specs aimed at that. It would be good if I could play other more demanding games, such as racing sims and other FPS, but if this pushes the price up substantially then I'm not interested. It would also be good if I could upgrade
it in the future should I want to.

Please could specs be suggested? I do also have some questions though...

1 - Is it better to get one bigger monitor or two smaller ones? I do prefer two but if I can work split screen on the bigger one then I'd rather do that.

2- Can PC monitors be used with the PS4?

3 - What parts of a PC really can you really go cheap on? For example I don't care how it looks so can I just get the cheapest case?

4 - What part(s) should I not scrimp on?

Thank you,
Chris

What parts you should not skimp on, the power supply for sure.

So then you can cheap out on the pc case, i don't know what else to skimp on that is if you want a decent pc specification.

I do not know your budget but for £1,000 for the tower as it is enough cash for a decent pc specification.

For £1,000 around for the tower only you get this below.

Here is another build has a gtx 1060 in it which is fine for gaming at 1080p on high or ultra on a single screen, i went with a cx corsair psu so that will be fine because i know what the psu is like since i have a cx 600 and have had it for a few years and is still working fine.

Thank you for your reply. Was hoping to spend quite a bit less than £1,000 if possible.
A micro build would save you money - same overclocking potential and a quality PSU at a good price at the moment. I've added a SSD -as it's a great speed boost - but could be dropped and added at a later date...

Stock is an issue with some parts but they're cheap quality components (especially the memory - perfect for your type of budget when in stock) - but they're OcUK staples so should be back in stock soon:

Nobody's going to laugh at you, just give us an idea of the budget you originally had in mind. £500 for just a tower isn't crazy, but it's not going to play everything at the highest settings, even lower is more than doable, even if that means some parts have to be 2nd hand.
