I saw a Sapphire Cosworth the other day and it had 'LUKE' harness thing hanging from the front Tow Bar..??

...is this some sort of new trend like DRL's??

Luke are manufacturers of seat belt harnesses, the thing on the bumper is a tow hook, its either for show or its used on track

I too seen a BMW 1 series with a similar harness from the Tow Bar as if it were a track car. Certainly didn't look like a track beast, although it did look really nice...

Most of which are never, and will never be used to tow the car. Fair enough if its a track weapon, but this unfortunatly seems to be the new "teddy/smurf/toy hanging from the bumper" thing

It's not a drift toy though. I service for a guy with a Honda Civic rally car and he has a tow strap hanging out of the bumper which is simply a functional item (and has been tested, sadly).

I agree that there is no point whatsoever with this stupid bit of decoration; it would snap off the second anyone actually tried to use it.
