Right, after some advice people.

I am in need of a new tripod, this is what I curently have:

And I need something new - it broke.

Budget wise, £350ish I suppose.

Features:
Carbon Fibre - I end up logging it everywhere, I need it to be light.
Height - when extended has to reach 150+cm
Compact - as small as possible for trave purposes.
Head - Ball head, enough to hold a 5D MKIII + 24-105 (can upgrade head furhter if it cant take a 70-200 f2.8 when I get round to getting that lens.

Preferable: the twist-locks, I prefer these to the ones the Manfrotto's have, but it isnt a deal breaker.

Please, if possible, can you post what you are all using, I dont need pics but a model number and make of parts would be nice so that I can see what others are using. Also a comment about how you find it would be useful.

I have tried looking at all the variopus makes and models, even took a trip to Southampton today to the LCE store as they have a bigger display there than anywhere close to me, but nothing. Manfrotto only (cant afford the Gizto ones).

ANy suggestions or comparison/review sites please let me know.

Looking to purchase this week.

Many thanks.

Tripod = giottos ytl8354
Ball = induro bhl3

I have a giottos ytl 8354 carbon

Why?

Because it has a centre column that can reach any angle. So the camera can be basically on the floor but still secure.
It has a Y shape centre column which means it folds down to a smaller volumetric size
I wanted carbon
It's tall enough for me (I'm 6ft) with the head

It was 130

The ball head I have is an induro bhl3

I went for this based on shift over 30sec time to be minimal.
I got this for a 176 (seller made a mistake with the listing price on Amazon but it had to be fulfilled)

That's 300 all in

Unfortunately I can't really review them as only ones I've really been used

Due to my specific tripod requirements probably better out there for you
