New Tripod Req

I’m after a new tripod and as I’m still quite new into the DSLR arena I’m not too sure which one to go for, after some advice from a friend in the know I’ve been told to avoid a cheap and nasty one as I would upgrade after a short while and to look at one of the following makes.

Silk
Velbon
Manfrotto

I’ve set myself a budget of approx £100 so there are quite a few to look at, I would prefer to hear from someone with firsthand knowledge rather than (my friends got one and its great) brigade

I have a Velbon Sherpa 600r i think you would be most happy with one it has very good build quality and looks & feels nice.

a lot of people on here including myself have a manfrotto 190Xprob and its an excellent tripod! robust yet quite light weight to lug around i highly recommend but could come in abit over budget with a descent head on it
