New TV for PS4

Have you had a look through the menu's and seen a Game mode?

Lots of tv's have game mode which you should use when playing games.

Yeah, but some of them (Samsung) are buried away and not exactly easy to find. This is exasperated when you use an AVR which then only uses 1 HDMI port on the TV meaning you only have 1 set of picture settings, regardless of the device being used.

So I ended up getting the KDL32W653 and wow what a difference! No more black shadows following players in Fifa and also found out I can hook my sky satellite into the TV (I cancelled my sub a while ago).
Haven't fiddled much with the settings so it's running standard game mode and I like it!

Would definitely recommend the Sony w653 for the ps4, have the 42 but the 32 is just as good. Only negative is the 2 hdmi ports but bought a neet 3 port hdmi switcher for a tenner. Ps4 on hdmi1 and both 360 and wii u on the hdmi switcher. All works perfectly and no drop in picture quality for the 360 and wii u. First smart tv as well and find the interface lag free compared to previous lcd's from other manufacturer's. Record to usb is a nice feature too that I wasn't aware of when the tv was purchased. Had a look at similarly priced panasonics and samsungs and screen quality and responsiveness wasn't up to the same standard imo.

Anywhere else other than Argos and Amazon selling the KDL42W653? Really want this model to compliment my PS4, however can't make the purchase till the 25th and not sure how long stock will last considering the newer models are out!

Sorry to hi-jack thread but didn't want to create a new one.

I bought a Sony W9 series (can't recall exact one right now) 47" with my PS4 back in November. I had came from a small house with a 42" TV and rather underestimated the size of my living room in the new house.

47" just seems tiny as my sofa is 10-12ft away from the TV. Soooo, I'm thinking about taking the new Sony up in the master bedroom with the PS3, bring the 42" samsung into the spare bedroom (I sometimes rent the room out to interns at my company so could do with a TV in there).

Then I am thinking of either a 55" or a 60" for the living room.

The problem I have, is the the new Sony one is a very good quality TV. It was £900 and to get a 55" of comparible quality was double that - far more than I'd pay for a TV.

Anyone recommend some 55-60" TVs <£1000 that would be good for gaming.

(don't care about tv/movies, or smart/3d function as Sony TV is great for all of that)

I'll have to go browse them but shops are not always ideal as they seem to try and make some Tvs stand out more so it's hard to tell which are the best value

For an extra £40 I'd probably go with the KDL42W705B. It's basically the same TV as the W653 from what I've read, but the W7 has 2 more HDMI ports and an extra USB.

Mind sharing the link for the 705B?

ps3ud0

I'd quite like to see this too.

I'm looking to upgrade, I can get the KDL42W653 for £479.97.
Or I can get the KDL42W706 for £527.95 with discount from the missus place of work.

Well I can't get the KDL42W653 for £479.97 as I need it delivered as no where near me has it in stock for that price (currys) cheapest I can find is about £540.

Link here for the 705B is through amazon for about £580
