New TV wall mount?

Ok I think the name of the shelves I need is alcove shelving.

Yea drilling the chimney gonna be the way I guess. Will look up a tool that can do it

So had a word with someone who's advised I'm gonna need a 50mm core drill to get through the chimney wall from the left, 35mm was original plan but after looking at how many cables are gonna be going through it's gonna be an issue.
Looking at:
3 x hdmi
1 x VGA
2 x scart
1 x component
1 X TV power cable
1 X optical
1 X svideo
1 X rf

One thing he's said is no way my current drill gonna cut it. So need to borrow big drill

I mean you could. I have a lidl sds drill. It was fine. I just drew a small square and drilled normal size drill holes in the corners and sides, and used the chisel extension to just break it up. It's not pretty but it's behind the TV..

You can glue/screw one of these over the hole if your want.

The hard part is putting string down the hole and pulling the wires up through the hole, because it won't be big enough to push plugs heads through it.

If you cannot get an arm into the bottom of your fireplace because it's boarded over then your gona struggle to get the wires where you want.

new tvs unlikely to have a scart/component/svideo/vga and connection position behind screen maybe different, so maybe fewer/trunkable cables in the future, hold off drilling.
(would you need an AV processor if you wanted to preserve such connections)
I don't run hdmi adjacent to mains, also is length/quality of the hdmi lead within tolerance for full fat 4k
