New tyre time!

Mate I ain't worried either way tbh and advise away. I merely mentioned the weight as a further benefit, so don't take it the wrong way! Besides I've only been riding 20 years so I'm much less experienced :p

I'm just suggesting to others that they may not need it either and they could save themselves a bit of cash by going for a decent sports touring option (BT023 / Storm 2 Ultras).

Which is fair enough, many people will be perfectly happy with the longer life and lesser grip of a Sports touring tyre, but some value the extra grip the sports tyres offer over tyre life. I buy nice grippy tyres for my car, even though I could buy cheaper ones which would last twice the mileage because I think grip/handling is more important.

If you only do 2k I would just get some BSB supercorsa's just to look trick :p

er... not to be a spoilsport but that can cause issues.....

i.e. i had an accident and i had on road legal ex-race rubber which was worn right to the edges (no chicken strip :p) and it counted against me. reason being is the wear on the tyre which i allegedly did on the road but no matter how or what i said it didn't really matter.... they were on the bike so i must have made them like that on the bike on the roads was the impression i got....

metzeler racetecs are pretty handy though and give good feel but are crap in the damp but are road legal (they have tread covering 76% of the tyre ;) ).

Sorry for the minor hijack, seems better than starting an almost indentical thread.

I need some new tires for the divvy, the ones that are on it are awful.

Where are people buying their tires from? Found some Bridgestone Battlax BT45, £160 for two ( 140/70 R18 H and 110/80 R17 H ) on blackcircles. Does this seem like a good price?

i popped to wheelhouse tyres in coleshill nr M6/M42 junction

EDIT: I paid £250 fitted to the bike, and the same tyres were £210 on blackcircles. They always have stock of most tyres as well...
