My rear bt 021 only has 1.6mm left so only a few hundred miles looking at switch both front and rear at the same time never really got on with the bt's looking to spend less than £250 and want some thing more "sporty" so people what are your personal favourite tyres?

My bike is an er6f so 160 rear and 120 front

Get rid of those BT21's, god awful tyres.

My Power Pures cost me £240 fitted, I'd recommend Pilot Road 2/3's, even though they are sports touring you won't discover the limits, I promise you that.

just rang up my local tyre shop and he recommend the pilot power 3's and can do them £225 fitted for the pair and the pilot road 2's for £190 fitted and the 3's for £220 fitted to much choice

he also said the the Diablo Rosso 2 where a good choice and could do them for £210 fitted anyone had experience with them?

in Warwickshire my friends uncle owns a motorcycle repair/service place and because i kinda know him he can give me a good deal :)

BT023's are great and I had them on my ER6. Not used PR3's, or 2's for that matter, but I fancy trying them when I have to put new tyres on my Versys.

Had them on mine for over a year. Fantastic tyre. They have done Round 3,000 miles including a couple of trackdays and whilst they are well worn there still legal.

Warm up really quick and more then enough grip for the road. Getting replaced next week and after much thought I'm replacing them with the same tyres. All be it with the 55 profile. I don't think I'll be doing any trackdays this year now and if I do I'll stick on a set of slicks for the day and put these back on for the road.

Thats a great price you have been offered as well.

So far i've found nothing as grippy as a conti-go.

Shame they dont last too long :(

The ContiGo is only for small bikes though I think?

There are loads of excellent tyres around now, in fact its hard to even think of a really duff modern tyre from the big brands. That said I wasn't terribly impressed with the BT021's on my RSV, they wore in a very strange manner and made the bike feel a bit nervous. However, I pushed them pretty hard and they never actually let me down.

Unless you are contemplating trackdays I would stick with a decent sports/touring tyre rather than a full sports tyre. They warm up quickly, have good grip in the wet and in the dry provide far more dry grip than the vast majority of people will ever use.

e.g.

Dunlop RoadSmart 2
Michelin Pilot Road 3 (almost universal praise for these on the road)
Bridgestone BT023
Avon Storm 2 Ultra (or Storm 3D)
Pirelli Diablo Strada (old tyre, but works very well and superb value)
Pirelli Angel GT

I actually put a pair of the Avon 3D Ultra Sports on my RSV. These are at the bottom rung of their sports tyres, a step above the Storm in the dry but still have plenty of tread for wet weather. They are manufactured in the UK as well, so did a bit for supporting the economy :) Compared to the BT021s they feel fantastic, but going from a set of old, oddly worn tyres to virtually any new tyre will make the bike feel great.

On a tip, I got a pair of Continental Sport attack. First time on Conti's but I'd definitely recommend. They have good feel on the road and have now done 5 track days, and there is plenty of wear left.
Forget the exact price but it was competitive. That's on a 190 rear though.

Thanks for the help guys I'm most likely going to go with the pilot road 3's all thought I'm still debating the power 3's the tread pattern looks nicer (stupid I know :P)

I had the Pilot Road 3 on my SV and they were brilliant.

On my ZX6R I've just fitted the Pilot Power 3 on the front and that is brilliant too.

Depends on your riding though and how much you like to push on. The PR3 is amazing for the majority of riding styles and bikes.
