I am looking to upgrade my PC in the new year as spent my budget on a home cinema audio setup last month :D

Current spec:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) @4.2Ghz
16GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual
XFX ATI Radeon 6950 flashed to 6970
Intel 520 Series Solid-State Drive 240 GB
MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (socket 1155)
Corsair HX 620W
Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Upgrade:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus VG278HE 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £379.99
1 x Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £329.99
1 x Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £249.95
Total : £959.93 (includes shipping : FREE).

Will my power supply be enough to handle the upgrade?

Any recommendations on my upgrade?

Thanks.

I don't think you can go back once you update to Ivybridge so I believe I need to update with the 2500k present and then switch CPU.

I have no plans to make any purchases before the new year. I will see what deals are on then.

Would I need a better PSU with a similar priced 780?

I have been looking at MM but they don't appear too often as they are sort after.

OcUK currently has the OEM more expensive than the retail.

780's appear a fair amount more expensive than 290s.
