New usb amp/dac combo needed

I’m using hd660s will this be powerful enough?
Mainly for music.

the g6 is good enough for the hd660s

it may sound even better with a high end dac/amp but the g6 is cheap and is able to supply enough power to drive the hd660s

It has gone up in my estimation now that I've turned on the Power Match, that is supposed to be on for over-ears (especially my 250ohm 990s!). It has gone from good for the money, to excellent for the money, in my book.

Only downside is the laughably short USB cable!

Can somebody link me a longer cable, you right the cable is a joke. trying to decide if I like the sound.

Search for this on the you know where: B00C7RZPJ0

Bought it for my previous iFi Zen DAC v2, works perfectly and very good quality cable.
Thank you, just a shame its doesn't mute output at the back when you got headphones plugged in(Got Bose Companion 2 Series III as a small desk speakers).

Well after nearly two days of listening to Tidal hifi+ on offer(£2 a month for 3 months ^.^) on a few of my headphones(hd599, hd560s, and hd660 and some cheap Chinese iem's) yes It's good well worth the money. If you don't have an external sound card and are using onboard sound then it's a no-brainer go grab one as they will go up in price.
I do love the sound from my old Sound Blaster X-Fi HD, to be honest, I'm surprised how good it is sound-wise against zen dac but it just might be my old ears.

So from my understanding, the Zen Dac outputs to both headphone out and line out all the time and there is no button/switch to disable one or the other.

I am looking for headphone amp/dac with a RCA out to power amp for passive speakers but with the Zen dac I believe I would have to unplug headphones/RCA out each time to have it going to only 1 output. Whereas something like the topping dx3 pro has selectable outputs.

Correct.

I use the fixed line level output, so I just turn headphones volume down, speaker volume up, and vice-versa, to switch. A switch button would be nice, but I think the rest of the package for the money makes it an acceptable compromise.

Exactly the same here, if I want to listen to stuff on my headphones I’ll turn the speakers down and vice versa. Not a problem to me at all.

So ive been running the ifi zen dac v2 for the last couple days, enjoying it so far, especially the truebass for the shp9500's as they are a bit bass light.
Have been having some issues with it though. I run it into my PC, The default audio sampleis 32bit/48000khz, ive set the rate 32bit/44100khz which works fine for what seems like a day or two, then all of a sudden I will get no sound. dac is still recognised etc but I have to switch the audio sample rate in windows to something else and back again or I have to unplug/replug the dac and it works again. anyone experienced similar. whenever this happens and I go to youtube or something, the video wont load and says audio render error or similar.
