New washing machine suggestions?

Nobody suggesting the made in UK Ebacs? When our Siemens washing machine gives up the ghost I will go for one of these:

I'd like to see if they've updated their programming before sinking at least £685 into a machine. Then again, I do usually favour Bosch machines, mostly because they get the job done and hardly ever break down - at least for me, anyway.

Panasonic for Washer
White Knight for Dryer.

Epic combo!
I seem to remember liking Panasonic machines, apart from their reliability issues. If you can get into the service mode, they can be incredibly flexible machines, but I'd only encourage this if the machine is out of warranty.

AEG machines have always interested me with their programming and quirks, but they don't strike me as being overly reliable these days.

Bosch are offering quite a few machines with a 5 year warranty just now, even on some of their series 4 machines. To me, that says all I need to know about Bosch's confidence in their reliability.

Just arrived and I just plumbed it in. Bit annoyed the included spanner was for some reason missing but still, didn't really matter. I'm happy it just about got through my very narrow hallway otherwise it would have cost £30 to return. Haven't washed anything yet but it's a sweet looking machine. :)

@K.C. Leblanc how's your new LG washing machine holding up? Any new issues or still golden?

I may pull the trigger in a few days on that model you bought, as my Hotpoint has started to get very loud recently and it's not rinsing + spinning clothes particularly well. It's that loud I'm having to raise my voice when speaking in the kitchen as I can't hear myself :p

I have a very nice LG that take a 10Kg load which is great as I can fit my Super king goose down duvet in it, vs paying a cleaner £40 per time to wash it. It has been flawless for several years, and has some nice features in the app that I didn't really expect to use. It also has steam functions for allergies babyy stuff, and allows a super fast 12 min wash etc. I waited a while to get the right deal, managed to get Curry's to match a price on line and got free delivery so in the end it was a smidgen over £400, not sure how much that would be in todays money.
We've had an LG for 9 years. It's been brilliant. My only regret is not going for a bigger drum. Next one we get will be 10kg at least.

More washing machines appear to be direct drive now, we needed to replace ours last year and the beko one that I bought shook violently so returned it and bought a HiSense one, the mixed load setting does well and it's fairly quiet as far as washing machines go.

I have a washing machine that also does dry clothing with hot air (a now 5 years old Siemens IQ500 washing machine).

The amount of clothing that can be dried in kilos, is less than for plain washing. Somehow the machine senses the weight load.
Washing machine got damaged on the first day.. Me trying to wash a single synthethic filled pillow, that got so heavy with water it seriously unbalanced the washing machine and probably caused some misalignment in the machinery I think. Never repaired the machine and it still works today.

I thought there would be a lint filter on this machine of mine, but there isn't. I guess it doesn't work like any standard drying machine (hot air drying).

I only use the drying feature basically ONLY for my cotton socks. Doing a quick program with drying for cotton socks alone.
Same progam cannot be used for underwear, as it wouldn't be sanitary. Can't wash underwear with cold water and then heat it up when drying, not a good idea.

Btw, I recently bought two sets of bed covers/sheets/pillows, which means I often get this "sleep at a hotel epxerience" with clean sheets. Knowing that I always have second set of clean sheets, makes it more fun to just change the sheets after just a few days.
My sheets I can keep white and clean, my white towels however, don't stay white. I can use chlorine to whiten the towels, but doesn't work well if they already are very miscolored. Even at 90 deg program with just soap, the cotton towels don't become white again.
I also bought several merino wool t-shirts that I wash often, so I use my cotton t-shirts less and less. The merino t-shirts dry very quickly. The merino t-shirts are so thin, no ironing is ever required I think.

Still good.

One of my colleagues are looking for a decent washing machine for £300. Does anybody have any ideas?

The one above that I was talking about only days ago is over budget, so can't recommend that one.
