new WD models

Hello All,

Any idea if Overclockers will be stocking any of the new "green" WD drives:

I am on the hunt for a low power usage drive to fit in a new shuttle build that will (hopefully) sit in the corner and not cost lots to run

Is Electricity costly ?

Only ones I have heard saying thats in Yanks, its cheap as chips where I am, like 20miles across from a Nuke Power Station

I dont think the costs of running a HD are that noticable

It will help people that run loads of HDDs and don't want a high wattage PSU.

The WD GP drives draw about 7.5W, the equivalent AAKS drive uses about 8.5W. So all in a saving of 1KWh every 40 days or about 50p a year.

That makes absolutely no difference whatsoever - you still pay the same distribution costs as everybody else in your PES area...

I have worked in Pricing for one of the large suppliers.

Not much difference, if you really want to minimise PSU draw you're better off using a laptop drive.

It was a joke and I do pay less than England so thats not true.
