New Wheel Choice (MX5)

Not a fan of the JSPL, thin spokes > *. ;)

Could do the SubZeros in 15", they are a sexy looking rim indeed!

Thing is i currently have two GSD3's on the back with loads of tread left, i could get the wheels and stick my current tyres on, but would i be kicking myself later for doing this.

I think some ultraleggera's in anthracite would look really good. I was looking at them a while back in 15" size, and it came to about £80 a wheel, which I thought was pretty good.

Yea, not sure how those wheels scale down, they look fantastic in 17" but sometimes wheels can look poor when sized down.

Exactly! I think with low profile tyres they look great, but being only 15" there's not much point in having much below ~45 profile, and thus they don't look as good :(

Photochopping time ;)

Thats from the OZ website. I think they weigh about 6 kilos though

Those look to be 17"?

I dont know, i just grabbed the picture off the website :o
They do come in 15s, im not sure if they are the 15s or 17s though

Edit: Have a look through because you can see them on other cars and you will see the size change. IIRC they looked to be the smallest ones

i was faced with the same issue 15-16 wise, and bit the bullet in the end going with the larger wheels and waisting some very very well treaded f1s :(

After the initial spend i've not regretted the desision at all :) although i did go with some bargain toyo proxies so it didn't hit the wallet too hard!

Is the handling as good or better with the 16s? Or is it just the looks that are better?

I have a MK2 1.8iS with the standard 15's and have been looking at getting some new wheels and have always thought I would go to 16s so would be interested in your thoughts. Love those black SubZeros :)

If it were me I'd stick with the 15" wheels, just so you can get some use out of your tyres if nothing else.

From what I remember there isn't a massive gap in the arches anyway from standard wheels, and they'd be slightly lighter in weight.

I have to say, the Rota sub zeros in black would look the dogs. I don't think the OZ Superleggra's would suit, and they are really common as well.

The chassis is spot on with 15s. The ride gets a little harsher with 16s as the tyre profile probably needs to be reduced a little. It does look good, but I'd take function over appearance any day. :)
