New window is always blocking my view!

One thing that has always irritated me about Windows: I launch Notepad or a CMD prompt, and every time it will open and cover the information in the background that I need to be able to see. So I have to move my hands from the keyboard to the mouse and drag the window out of the way, then back to the keyboard. It's extremely frustrating at times.

So, my question is, is there a way to change the default location of a new window to, for example, the lower-right corner of the screen?

Furthermore, does this frustrate anyone else?

No, can't say it does.

Try and see if this works:

1. Open the program (Notepad in this case).
2. Resize the new window to what size and where you want it.
3. Hold down ctrl and quit the program.
4. Re-open the program.

Hey, that seems to work for GUI apps. Cheers! :)

For the CMD prompt window, I found a Properties selection, click the "Layout" tab, and disable "Let system position window." I think I'm golden now.
