I know I been read many posts people been asked when will Nvidia have new Control Panel for Windows 10 as current Nvidia Control Panel was dated since Windows XP which people complaint that it is too slow but majority of people like me never had a problem with it and not used everyday but only used once everytime when installed new driver. If it not broken, don't fix it until Microsoft finally ditch ancient control panel that been in used since Windows 2.0 back in 1987. So let look back memories lane on old Nvidia control panels first. :D

Windows 95

I managed to find the original Nvidia control panel for Riva 128 in 1997.

Look like we will see new Nvidia Control Panel in upcoming 400 series driver when Nvidia will launch Turing GPUs in summer.

Hope guy at Nvidia wont get fired by leaked new Nvidia Control Panel to his friend on reddit, it been about a year since Nvidia intern Mike Tsai leaked picture of his Titan V prototype.

That Windows 10 one is nothing new - its just the old ESA thingy with some minor tweaks that was part of nVidia System Tools at some point.

No I think you are mistaken. I remembered Nvidia System Tools installed on my old Phenom II 940 system with ASUS M3N72-D motherboard with nForce 750A SLI chipset, googled found what Nvidia System Tools looked like but it looked nothing resembled like Nvidia Geforce Control for Windows 10. Nvidia System Tools was discontinued in 2011.

Prior to Phenom II 940, I had Athlon 64 X2 4400+ on ASUS A8N-E motherboard with nForce 4 Ultra chipset used nTune software so nTune looked nothing resembled like Nvidia Geforce Control.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Sad to see Nvidia taking a leaf out of AMDs Radeon Settings failure and sacrificing function for form :(

I disagree. Radeon settings has improved a lot since it first released. Now it looks good and is basically idiot proof. Nvidia need to catch up as there panel looks and feels like windows 98.

I don't really care what a settings panel that gets used annually/bi-annually looks like, id rather it be easy to use and functional.

It depends, as long as everything i need is still in there i couldn't care less what it looks like, however actually updating it to be a windiws 10 native application it could actually run faster, so it might just be a win-win

Yup, AMD's control panel is MUCH better now and far more feature rich than what it used to be, at the start, quite a few things were missing but they were added back over time. And it is super quick and easy to use, with a nvidia card in another system, it's control panel just feels so dated and actually the cumbersome one to use now imo.

What features are currently missing?

Only thing I am still waiting on is 21.9 VSR support...

Yep, that's the point where evolution turns to devolution.
Just like Homo Sapiens turning into Homo Urbanus Consumericus, which couldn't think enough to survive if food didn't grow in supermarket.

Number of features might be bigger, but have you ever bothered to think how much effort it takes to go through toyphone user interface fad going through those x+100 pages to find something?

Whole graphical style is like some darn adventure game in which you need to click things just to see if it does anything...
Because buttons aren't even separated from background in any way!

I have no problems finding any feature/control that I need to within seconds, yes at first, it took a few minutes to find what I needed when the UI update first rolled out but this is the same for anyone and any piece of software out there...

For my usage, I can get to anything within 2-3 clicks at the most (be that wanting to change the sync option, AA, FPS limit, enable/disable chill [as well as adjust the FPS range], adjust a recording feature or/and adjust my display settings), all of these things I do are far quicker with the crimson UI than the old catalyst centre. The one thing that really stands out with crimson is the speed, everything is instant where as with the old catalyst centre, it wasn't and nvidia's control panel is even slower to respond.

People just need to have some patience and be willing to accept change and this is coming from me who hated the UI update when it first rolled out (although more so due to lack of features such as display colour settings). It reminds me of the people who hate windows 10 just because "change".... Yes, some parts are awful i.e. the control panel being one, but on the whole, the UI is vastly better than previous versions.

The only thing I dislike about the current crimson UI is the power/wattman section, specifically the undervolting part, I haven't bothered with it, as it far easier to just move one slider to -31mv via MSI afterburner.
