New Wireless Router needed

I've got a WRT54GS but I'm having problems with it, it keeps randomly dropping the connection on wireless and now the main pc - which is wired to it is having problems. Can someone suggest a new router for me please, it has to be wirelss as there are 2 sometimes 3 laptops connected and a pc wired to it.

WRT54GL flashed with 3rd party firmware of your choice.

Before, you buy a new router, what version of wrt54gs are you using? I ask, because with 3rd party firmware, mine is rock solid.

I'm using V1.1

And now I can't play BF2 as my pings are sky high

Try dropping one of the free 3rd party firmware options that are around onto it and see what happens?

Can you point me in the right direction of a good one please as I have no idea which one I should be looking at and don't want to bugger it up

for some reason, so it won't let me change the firmware now.

The DD WRT firmware. Tried the mini general like they suggested but no luck

i just bought one of these v5.1 and its terrible, cant even use aol when working wirelessly.
Only got one cos my WRT54G v1.1 doesnt allow the voice to work when playing SOCOM fire team bravo.
Currently argueing with linksys about its poor performance, they said they might supply me with a beta firmware, but if i am still using my old router by wed cos the new one is awfull, its going back to where i bought it
