So I've saved up so far £400 towards the new Xbox series x. However since I've hooked up my pc to my Samsung tv which does freesync and I game in 1440p @ 120hz I find just not touching my Xbox X. I'm currently running a red devil 5700XT paired with a Ryzen 3600 and it just rocks. So I'm thinking do I skip Xbox/ ps5 and just get a Nvidia 2080 TI or even something lesser like 2070/2080 super or wait to see what AMD brings to the table next. I know consoles will have some exclusives but I'm not too bothered about getting one straight away I could wait a year or two for prices and supply to calm down. Interested in your opinions. Stay safe everyone. :)

No point upgrading unless you want to go 4K I'd say.

Next gen Nvidia cards should be out before the year end too, so stick with what you've got for now.

Seeing as you'll be able to play all Xbox Series X games on your PC via games pass going forwards, the 2080Ti or a 3xxx card will allow you to run them better than on the Series X.

...If you were asking about a PS5 or 2080Ti, that would be a different thing all together.

It was kinda where I was a few weeks back. I've been using my XboneX a lot recently, but then we found cross platform with COD and War Zone, thought hey I'll update my GPU to the 5700XT and since then loving my PC gaming again fro the first time in years. I'll probably end up buying whatever AMD release next if it gives the performance benefits BUT I'll also probably end up with the Xbox as well, because I usually do lol

Yeah my pc gaming stagnated for years and I got into console gaming instead. I bought the Xbox X and also the PS4 pro. I kind of got bored with that and decided to go all out and rebuild my pc witch escalated pretty quickly to putting together what I think is a very good gaming rig. In answer to 4K gaming well it would be nice to have that option and 4K@60fps would be lovely. I'm quite intrigued by NVidia's RTX technology but I'm hearing AMDs Navi is going to be a real Nvidia killer, so I will probably just going to wait and see. Of course its all up in the air at the moment with the current state of the world thanks to covid but I hope when we get through it graphics card production will be on the up and up.

Dont expect to see new cards till next year everything will be delayed or put back so might as well save up some more.

2080Ti would be mental purchase considering the potential price of new console. Stay away from GPUs for the time been!!!!

you will also lose freesync as that is only supported over display port on Nvidia cards with exception of LG TV that uses hdmi VRR.

Xbox is a bit redundant if you have a PC hooked up to the TV. PS5 gives access to more exclusive games going forward.
