Christ, one minute I post about how the X5 is the ONLY good looking car that BMW produce and the next minute this hideous turd plops into the bowl of awful automotive design.

At least that shot doesn't have the stupid 'cut and shut' line through the kidney grill that seems to infest most of BMWs newer creations.

With regards to the old X5, going with current values.. what would you people on here rather buy:

a) A 2001 BMW 530i Sport Touring for £11000
b) A 2001 BMW X5 Sport 3.0i for £20000

Seriously, thats the sort of difference there is. The 530 handles better, is faster, has more space, is the same age/mileage and costs thousands and thousands less.

Yet people would probably rather have the X5..

People forget, an X5 is ,effectively, an "e39 on stilts" - as my local dealer describes them! .. No mean achievement for a 4x4!

I think there pointless, the 5 is a far better proposition.

Although, £20k is beautiful M5 money, there is no choice to be made in this case, imo.
