New Xbox?

I am thinking of buying a 360 for a bit of a change from PC gaming and I've just got my student loan through.
I was just wondering when the new Xbox (If at all) would be out any time soon to a year?

I don't want to spend quite a lot of money on a 360 if in a year or so, a new Xbox would be coming out.

What do you mean by a new Xbox? As in an Xbox 3? I very much doubt you'll see that for a few years as this console generation just started.

There have been a few hardware revisions since the 360 came into existence though.

No, I mean't an Xbox 3.
Thought of a PS3 but they are a bit too expensive.
Plus, the majority of my friends have 360s and play live, I just don't want to buy one then in a years time wanting to buy the 3rd Xbox.

xbox1 was only out 4yrs, who know what MS will do with the 360?. I would expect they are watching Sony this comming year and see what happens with their sales seeing all the AAA titles are meant to be appearing along with HOME

Xbox 1 arrived too late, thats why its lifespan was so short, I see no reason for MS to rush for a Xbox3, they are just beginning to make headway, they are beating their main competition so far and they are making a mint from software sales, I see no reason to think they would be ready to move on from the 360 any time soon. Another 3 years in it at least before they even begin to talk about Xbox 3 IMO.

Not sure what Sony and their AAA hype games have to do with it. MS have their own AAA games to blow away the other machines hype as they did in 2007

Seems more likely of PS4 before Xbox3.

Sony have said themselves that the PS3 is something like a 7+ year thing. The PS3 can't fail because it has Blue Ray which makes it the cheapest HD player on the market. Sony wont be bringing out a new console as they need to perfect their current one.

As for the OP. You have nothing to worry about. Even if a new revision of the 360 were to come out it would cost more than the PS3. So go out and get a 360 already

As for the OP, if you sit being scared to buy anything because it will go out of date you'll never get around to buying anything. It's the world we live in, you buys something and then a newer version comes out the next month :rolleyes:

In the latest issue of EGM, rumor hound Q-man got a really interesting tidbit from a mole at Microsoft: a secret first party sequel is already being worked on for the next Xbox console. According to the magazine, the game was originally planned for the Xbox 360, but was recently moved over to the next Xbox console.

Yeah I don't understand why sites are spreading this crap. I'm pretty sure as soon as the 360 launched MS said they were taking a break and then would get to work on the next one. It's what you do.
