New Xbox?

2015?

Honestly, I personally feel 10 years between products is too much for something like a games console.

While some games still look OK on console, they are obviously struggling with games these days.

I was really hoping it would be this year or next when another console came out. I would love to drop my pc for gaming, but I sometimes just miss how much better things run on PC. Hence why I can't bring myself to go purely console.

Sigh :(
 
Pc will always be ahead though. Even when the new machines come out that will have true 1080p gameplay no doubt but pc will be looking at pumping at least x1.5 the res by then easily.

10years is good enough for the companies though, the costs involved in a new console are massive. Consumers are still buying so it's win win for them....when people start voting with wallets will be the time they pump a new machine out.

But kinect did really well despite the lack of games so ms have little to worry about.
 
Next Xbox portfolio confirmed as fake

A design document claiming that Microsoft's next console will launch in four years' time has been established as fake.

The designer of the portfolio, which stated that Microsoft's IEB group was developing the next Xbox for 2015, has confirmed that it was "not real", according to Eurogamer.

Originally reported by ZDNet, the portfolio featured two sleek devices, which were speculated to be close-ups of a stand and a possible Kinect-like peripheral.

The first indication of a new Xbox arose earlier this month when Microsoft posted several job listings for a "next-generation" system project.

Positions included Graphics Architect and Hardware Verification Engineer, the latter of which involved designing the console's inside components, suggesting that it is several years from completion.
