New Xbox360 Data tranfer cable lend out

Mail sent - need the cable returing to me please this time. Nothing to do with Moneyspank - would have been happy for it to go there but I need it temporarily.

Can i ask a quick question.

What i will be doing is simply changing drives, 60GB to 120GB. After reading the 1st page in this thread do i need to do that Licence transfer thing as well or is that only for completly new consoles ?

tbh i'm not sure, i'd say no as iirc ms track console id's and these aren't linked to the hdd / memory unit but to the console. I could be wrong. If you need to do the tranfer it's quick and easy, just tedious as you have to select them one at a time.
 
Ok I have the cable with my old 20gb HDD in the XBox and the 'new' 120gb on the cable.

I say 'new' as I bought it second hand on AVforums, however it was described as being brand new.

When I insert the transfer disk I am getting the message 'Connect the new hard drive to your console with the supplied transfer cable'. Obviously I have connected it but it seems to not be recognising it, I have tried restarting the Xbox etc but no luck.

Any tips/suggestions please?

Wierd, I tried it on the Xbox upstairs and it worked straight away.

The Xbox upstairs is the Xbox the 20gb originally came with, the one it wouldn't work on is my housemates Elite which is in the lounge.
1h 30mins to do the transfer :o
