new xeons.

The Q6600 comes with 2 free games :D

The Xeon is a server processor adapted to work with desktops, they are very similar except that the Xeon is designed to run 24/7 and is (i beleive) made with slightly higher quality silicon. There is really very little difference and they both clock/perform very similarly.

aghh righto, i thought there might have been some performance diffence, like celeron over pentium. Will you need a different mobo to run the zeon, or just a normall quad core compatible mobo, was thinking about the striker.

Nope a Quad supported Motherboard will support the Xeon chips. Please their is no reason to get the striker. Their are boards that perfrom the same and are much cheaper. Your paying for the name mate.

i have been reading that. Is it better to go for the Asus P5K3 Deluxe WiFi ? I have always bought the best asus mobo i can get, i have had the p4c800-deluxe, and the A8N32-sli deluxe at the mo, the striker just seemed the next best thing, when it first came out. Would the P5K3 be a better board?

The P5K3 is a DDR3 mobo, so will require new ram. Go for one of the other P5K boards depend on whether you want the Wi-Fi add on or not. Might go for the Gigabyte GA_P35_DS3R myself.
