hehe i dont have a prob in that dept but the screws made of butter just round off im pretty sure im using the right size driver...would have been nice to get a 2 of these coolers they will go with my rampage 3 lol

What brand of card do you have?

They look pretty hefty, and seem like a good price, any links to some indie reviews?

Looking for a cooler for my GTX 285oc2, if it performs as good as stock at load and does a better job of bringing the noise down at idle from a humm to a whirr I would be very interested.

if it competes with the scycthe then they should be onto a winner, my mate has an old ATI card that was cooking itself, and he fitted a zalman which sorted the temps right out.

It does look a bit like a hot-rod though!

looking forward to seeing the benchies, will be interesting to see if it's worth sticking this on a stock 5series (£225-£230+£30) or whether it is better to just plump the cash for a vapor x (£260) or other card with enhanced cooling.

Vapor-x comes pre-fitted with warranty + tiny oc. Warranty + no chance of breaking card fitting cooler = good thing.

This (to me) seems more useful for people who chose other brands e.g. asus for voltage tweaking oc.

Looks nice though :)

Right I have completed some benchmarks using a Club 3D 5870 GFXs card. This has the standard reference board and cooler from AMD/ATI so this is one of the best cards to test with.

I have run Furmark in windowed mode at 1280 x 1024 with the card running at stock speeds.

Stock cooler - 69 degrees
Zalman cooler - High fan speed - 42 degrees
Zalman cooler - Medium fan speed - 38 degrees
Zalman cooler - Lowest fan speed - 38 degrees

Results with Stock cooler

Results with Zalman cooler - Full fan speed

Results with Zalman cooler - Half Fan Speed

Results with Zalman cooler - Lowest Fan Speed

As you can see the Zalman cooler performance is much better. The fan on the highest setting is audiable at around the same noise level as the stock cooler at the default fan speed.

On medium the noise is just about hearable, but at low speed the noise is none existant.

The results show only minor differences between the fan speeds on the Zalman with the slowest speed still massively outperforming the stock cooler for cooling.
