According to an updated Zotac 9300 ITX manual, available at http://downloads.zotac.com/mediadrivers/mb/man/pa105.pdf, there is a new revision of the Zotac 9300 ITX motherboard, PCB version 03.

The new features are 3 SATA connectors (against 2 in versions 00 and 01, they seem to have skipped verison 02), and an USB power select jumper, which allows wake up on USB. Also, PCB version 3 supports dual link DVI with resolutions up to 2560x1600 (against single link DVI with resolutions up to 1920x1440 in versions 00 and 01).

The bottom side of the version 03 MB should be labelled as 236-DA105-xx30F.

So, Zotac have now taken care of all three omissions one could think of.

Too bad they weren't shipping that version when I bought a few days back then. Mine is still pcb version 01. In fact they could frankly release that as a new board, it's a bit annoying to buy something only to find the product has been dramatically improved a few weeks later.

This is exacly why i wont be buying another Zotac product, things that should have been done originally havent and have been fixed with a new board which doesnt help the current owners quite frankly their customer service is ****.

I was also mildly annoyed when I read about PCB version 03, but this is how things are, and the fact is that Zotac have responded to user comments on a very popular board. I can easily live on without the updates introduced in version 03, but very much hope that all future bios updates will remain compatible with the previous versions.

I wonder how the retailers will shift the remaining stock of version 01 boards---perhaps we could see some attractive discounts.

I want to know what happened to the 9400itx that is referred to on the front cover on the 9300itx manual!
According to http://hothardware.com/Articles/NVIDIA-GeForce-9300-and-9400-Motherboard-GPUs:

"In terms of their specifications, the new GeForce 9300 and GeForce 9400 are nearly identical. As you can see in the spec list above, the only differences between the two are that the GeForce 9400 has a higher clocked GPU and shader cores."

Most probably, Zotac see no point in providing the 9400, as the 9300 is sufficient for media playback, and anyone interested in modern games will install a discrete graphics card anyway.

I read this was happening on another forum. How long to wait before buying one to assure getting the 03 version? Or perhaps overclockers could tell us when they get the 03 version?

As I understand, newegg and amazon (US) are receiving the 03 version MBs now. Answers to enquiries to Zotac (Eu) suggest that Europe will start getting the boards in September. Zotac Eu support have also been making hints of a version 02 board, which will not appear on the US market (this could be like version 03, but with 2 SATA connectors).

Thanks for the info. I see AOpen have a board with GeForce 9400 similar in spec to the Zotac 9300. Perhaps other manufacturers are jumping on it too so possibly there will be more boards to choose from hopefully before the latest Zotac is readily available over here.

This looks to be one of the best mini itx boards ive seen i know my next build is going to be based around a Commell mainboard :

Interesting, what board is that? ...so the S775 Mini-ITX market is opening up. Of course what I really want to see is a P55 Mini-ITX board is on the cards, because if that was to happen I would defo move to Mini-ITX for my own rig.
