Purchsed a slim 500GB+GTA V on Friday but not owned a console since PS2. This PS Network looks intetesting, charging a few quid a month gives me access to loads of fulls games?

Is it worth subscribing to this service, just for the games or should i not bother considering i will never play online?

It's very good value and may be even better for you as you will be able to get games on there that you have missed.

the games are totally random therefore it depends on how big a variation of games you actually enjoy yourself.

i have found most of the games of late to be crap, because i simply do not like those types of games.

red dead redemption has already been on it, etc so you have missed out on some of the best games.

if you enjoy a wide variation of games then yeah by all means get it. remember though that some of the games you get are VITA games, so you cannot play them unless you get a VITA.

I suppose that was to help VITA sales tbh.

so we cannot answer the question for you, plus with the ps4 coming out so soon, they are going to be launching ps4 games also on a monthly basis, which will be unplayable unless you own a ps4, but you need it to play online on the ps4.

If you get PS+ (and even if you don't) I say grab the House of the Dead bundle on PSN, it's £7 (£6 for +) and includes 3, 4 and Overkill. You might think that you need a move for it but you don't, actually feels so much easier on pad. The graphics are a lot better than arcade aswell.

Just throwin' it out there. :p

I spotted an Uncharted game (a co-worker said the series is his fav game of all time) & the recent Farcry. Looks like it's worth a look. Will crack on with GTA V then buy into the plus network.

Gave my PC away after moving into my gf's place (no room for the giant tower+24" screen) and realised i was spending ridiculous money on micro-tranactions with tablet gaming.

Do the games rotate every month? And if so, will Sony uninstall them automatically. Will i only have a month to play a game?

Yeah, rotates once a month and they'll announce it on the EU Playstation Blog (they also sometimes take polls for what people want the next month).

No. The games are yours for as long as you have an active PS+ Subscription (if you register them to your account by downloading or "buying" them). If your sub runs out, you'll lose access to them but if you resubscribe you can play them again. So essentially you never lose the games, just the access to them if you don't remain subscribed.

the games rotate every month on certain days.

like PS3 games on the 5th, VITA games on the 20th, etc.

you need to actually buy and checkout the games for free manually, then they will be added to your catalogue, then you can choose to download and play them or leave them for later.

once you have bought a psn+ free game, it's yours to keep forever but you can only play it once you have an active psn+ sub.

therefore you can play far cry forever so long as you have an active sub, but say you wanted red dead redemption which came out months ago whilst you never had a sub, you cant get it for free, you missed out on it forever.

therefore i would say this late in the game, it's pointless buying a psn+ sub tbh, unless your going to go ps4 or get a vita as well.

Interesting, half the good games will be cheap online now, although i'm used to Steam/PC prices. I would be tempted by PS4 but will wait until it's been out for a while & the games come....would really need a GTA/Skyrim sandbox type game to make me invest in PS4. Many thanks for the advice

I think PS+ is the best buy I've made for ages but I was lucky enough to decide to buy it the first month it became good. You could buy it now and there be no games that interest you for a while but if you haven't had a console this gen, the chances are there will be games worth having. Probably the best thing is to wait until there is a month where you want some of the games, then start your sub.
