Hi all, im basically a newbie and need some help getting the best out of my little 3700+

Current Setup:

AMD 3700+ SD + standard HSF
AsRock Dual PCI&AGP
2GB DDR400 OCUK Generic
1800xt 256mb
250GB HD
80GB HD

basically, I have had a go myself and got some results, but first:
1) What should this cpu be capable of on standard HSF?
2) What Volts should I be using?
3) What are good/Bad Temps?

-Now then, I've left the multiplier alone, and began by making the PCI-X and FSB A-Sync, keeping the PCI @ 100mhz.

-Left the Multiplier alone @ 11x

-Volts @ 1.4

-Slowly increasing the FSB, currently at 220 which gives me a clock of 2420Mhz

Now then, i've stopped here as when i increased the FSB to 220> the machine restarts either on loading windows, or when performing a task i.e.gaming

Now then, where do i go from here?
I have no idea about RAM timings, so they are all set on auto LOL, any info would be nice, thanks all.

One other thing. Even if it is one of the last 3700+'s, I shouldn't think you'll get anywhere near it as that mobo is a bit lacking in voltage selections.

I try to keep temps no higher than 60 degrees.

Deffo keep volts no higher than 1.6v but the last ones didn't really benifit from going any higher than 1.55 anyway

I got it as AM2 was being released, so i think it is one of the later ones.

Right, i've dropped the Ram to 166Mhz and increased the fsb to 240.

I can't find anywhere in my bios to change HT or HTT multiplier.

running sp2004 for testing now.

From your screenies you already have the HTT at 4x, hence it reading 960 when you have the fsb at 240.

Also, you have your RAM set at the 133 divider (cpu/17), the 166 divider gives you cpu/14 which will be 200mhz at 250fsb.

To be honest, read this thread,
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17457881
as it has everything to do with your motherboard. There is a simple volt mod that will allow you to give your CPU 1.55v, I managed 250x11 with my 3700+ and still use this board, just with a 4000+ now.
