Newbie and overclocking 2500k

0x124 = increase/decrease vcore or QPI/VTT...have to test to see which one it is

So it seems that BSOD was CPU related then. But with RAM now at stock I can continue to test descreasing the vcore right until im unstable again...

With sandy bridge auto ram volts are 1.5 set it to what is is supposed to be at. My ram is 1.65 so i always have to set it to that. You can lower it after you get a good stable cpu clock .

Some times when clocking you have to loosen the timings.

i changed to command rate of 2t mainly for stability even though it was 1T to start with.

For some reason my RAM timings were never right to begin with? this confuses me, lol

Just set it to the spec that's on the sticks and carry on as you were ignore me lol.

Edit yes set to that. Then when you are stable with your clock at what ever speed and volts then try changing ram timings if you like.

Ok I will do that. I can then play with some other settings related to the CPU in order to see if I can lower the voltage more on my OC.

if you set the ram to stock then its nothing to do with the ram.

This is what i was
To explain to you.

Ok well I can set my timings to what is on the memory stick and play with the CPU voltage until the system is stable. I guess if I need to run at 4.5Ghz using 1.29-1.30v that isnt to bad no?

Timings will not effect the performance much anyhow will it ?

Not much, no.

So if I manage to lower the voltage now and get stability I know it`s down to the memory causing problems right ?

Yes.

And just a word to the wise.

Try to make one post at a time.
