Hey guys,

I built my first computer when i was 16 i am 21 now and this computer is starting to die and doesnt run aswell as it once did. I have decided to build a new computer, but my only problem is i am a complete noob at it and when i built this one i just bought some random parts and put them together :P so i would appreciate it a lot if i could have some help here. Basically I have 3 screens (I use this for work I do SEO and PPC so with all the spreadsheets and everything i need to see this helps and i also dabble in stocks a lot) I also play a lot of video games SC2 and DOTA2 and will be getting the new GTA and i try and play crysis but cant at the moment. I only have one graphics card on this machine and its not a great one so running 3 screens does slow it down quite a bit. I have chosen some parts i think are good and will help me run all this but i am not sure if i am going wrong somewhere if someone could look over them i will be forever greatfull.

Case: Aerocool X-Predator Ultimate Gaming Case - White [EN56991]

GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 660TI 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [426018336-2722]

GPU2: Gainward GeForce GTX 660TI 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [426018336-2722]

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RED 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit (CMZ16GX3M4X2133C11R) [CMZ16GX3M4X2133C11R]

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Professional AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Motherboard [990FX PROFESSIONAL]

CPU: AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8350 Black Edition 4.00GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail [FD8350FRHKBOX]

Thanks in advance!

whats your budget?

first thoughts AMD CPU no no no! :D

Intel are well ahead of the curve and will give you more bang for buck and will be more future proof.

two 660ti's again i wouldn't, im running 1 660ti atm and for 1920 * 1080 on a single monitor its perfect. runs everything i want on ultra. but i always said if i ever went to dual cards i'd sell my 660ti and get two 7950's. not to mention the 660ti's 192bit memory channel would most likely cripple the card over 3 monitors.

so if your set on dualing gpus, get 2 7950's if not a single 680 would do you and i eblieve the 680 is the recomended card for the new crysis high settings? (one thats released next year)

also that pred gaming case is nice if its the one im thinking off? fan controller etc? but think its limited in terms of what heatsink it can take.

If you can afford to go intel I would look at their 1155 socket range, AMD just dont cut it with performance.

Around 2k i would say

and yeah to prove how much of a noob i am i just saw 8 core and thought that was the best lol.

and the only reason i want more than 1 graphics card is because i run 3 screens and 1 seems to slow it all down.

As for the case i am still not sure what to do about a heatsink because i really like the case but yeah most heatsinks are massive and will prob not fit so maybe water cooling for cpu? again im a noob so im not sure.

Thanks a lot for the fast reply.

The Aerocool X-Predator Ultimate Gaming Case has Cpu clearance of 185mm without the side fan, so most high end air coolers will fit.
Do you require everything or will you be reusing components from your existing PC,including OS?
Aerocool Xpredator X3, this has a 186mm clearance, if it is the one you are looking at.

Hey thanks for the reply i was looking at this case http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-006-AE&tool=3 i will be reusing components such as the Hard drive and the OS seen as i upgraded them not to long ago.

you think that SLI GTX 670 x2 will be a good choice and as for RAM the one that was stated is that good enough? I am running 3 screens and will be playing some hardcore games, im sure it will run it all but i am just weary because my computer at the moment cant handle it well at all so i guess i am trying to get the best of the best at the moment lol i am a total noob so not sure how it all works.

Thanks for the replys guys really helpful.

The case will be fine, as it is roughly the same size as the others, it will take a 170mm cooler.
What are the 3 monitors you have and what res?

Thats a good case, so if you like the look of it....

SLI GTX 670's will run perfectly. Though over 3 screens the 7950's may be better for you. Not least due to the 3GB VRAM, compared to the GTX 670's 2GB. (Rememeber VRAM doesn't double under SLI/Xfire)

7950's are also cheaper

You shouldnt struggle with gaming either way you go.

i cant actaully remember what monitors i have i am at work at the moment they are all dell they are very good monitors thats all i no at the moment i can check when i get in. Any advice on RAM or is the one you stated good enough?

Thanks

8GB RAM is fine for gaming. If you went higher you would need to be looking at expanding the OS because Home Premium can only take 16GB and 16GB RAM plus 2GB VRAM = 18GB.

Oh and I personally would get the 7950's because of the 3GB VRAM which could be handy over 3 screens. What power supply will you be using for a multi gpu setup?

Not to sure about that yet, and you think i should get 2 7950s instead? and i never thought ram would be that cheap always thought it was like atleast £100 lol

Thanks.
