Newbie installed new Ram can you let me no if CPU-Z looks ok ?

Hmmmmm

Drop you fsb to 400mhz and keep your memory at 1000mhz. Then set your timings to 5-5-5-15 @2.20v and see if it boots.

sorry about this mate I take it FSB is were it says CPU frequency and it is set at 410 so you want me to make it 400 with the rest of the settings you mentioned ?

Yip.

1000mhz 5-5-5-15 is the memorys stock speed, so we need to see if it can atleast manage it.

Ok I changed FSB to 400 and memory was set at 1000mhz witht he timings if 5-5-5-15 (after the 15 there was a 4)

any way didnt boot !!

changed to 2.25 v and it booted but I got this error message B4 loading vista

The file is possibly corrupt the file header checksum does not match the computed checksum

what ever that means I dont no

Back in 20 just off to pick the mrs up.

That's not an insignificant overclock on the CPU, might be worth putting the multiplier down to 7 and see about ruling out the CPU as a factor. The vcore looks pretty low too, what's it set to in the BIOS?

Anything that says "Modify Ratio Support" or "Ratio CMOS Setting"?

and what's vcore set to currently?

Also check the command rate as suggested above.

if your using a 975 chipset you need to set under 900mhz
the intel 975 chipset wasnt meant to take high frequency ram
above 800mhz

you will have to run that memory way below settings
than advertised.

using 775 mate.

Think I am gona have to give up I am sure there is a way to get it running but I cant seem to do it, spent 6 hours ! trying to get it running

thanks all for help and advice !! ;)

So intel 975x xhipset.

Btw quick ram speed lesson:
Pc6400= ddr800 aka 400 mhz ddr2 like cpu's says.
Your spd table also has 533 in it, wich is is acctually more than pc8000, and it should do that speed...

Although if people are right about the chipset, then tehre's nothign you can do about it...

Just because the RAM is rated PC8000, doesnt mean the chipset, motherboard, cpu etc can do that speed, just guarantees RAM wont be the cause below PC8000

iirc, it says PC6400, as that is JDEC's highest rating, anything higher is at the manufacturers discretion. If you look at the part number, it does indeed mention 1000.

His SPD shows it can do 533 DDR though, so 1066 mhz, just the odd thing is that usually the highest number is the most left one, while on his table, the middle row shows a faster than the most left speed, cpu's just reads the spd table backwards or something? Either way, the top bar about the ram saying pc6400 is wrong, the spd table counters this by saying it can do 533 mhz ddr, not pc6400 400 mhz ddr like the top part of cpuz spd page says...
