So, is it better to have DDR2 rather than DDR1?
If so, would make the AM2 interface better than 939?
<maddness> said:ive just upgraded (or in the process of) to a AM2 system, you cant go wrong with either, but as i like to have newer toys ive gone for am2, mind you its worked out cheaper for me too
easyrider, you and your conroe pimping , any oppertunity you can
PinkFloyd said:Don't blame him for pimping conroe mind.
If I could sell my current rig easily for a decent sum I'd have one.
for £400 I can get something that will comfortably match my cpu/ram/mobo spec. and Exceed well past it with overclocking
Digital Punk said:If you want to be able to keep your AGP card and Ram, then a cheap AMD 939 cpu and Asrock Dual Sata 2 motherboard would be a very cheap and worthwhile upgrade.
The motherboard supports AGP 8x and also PCI Express x16 and regular DDR so you might be able to use your current ram as well as your GFX card.
Its well worth it and cheap as chips too.
He can use a divider if necessary.Cob said:I'm guessing that with an xp2500+ you'll be needing to upgrade your ram to PC3200 too.
