Could you recommend something cheaper which would do the trick ?
I don't want to spend a whole lot.
I have to pay for it in euros and the conversion rates are a pain.
And how do I find out if its sata ?

This one is cheaper

Be a good idea to pop the case open and have a look at your motherboard to see which slots you have that look like a cable would connect to the image in link from the post above.

Not been funny but it looks like neither, that said , it says on the hard drive "Seagate barracuda" , one of the older seagate baracudas, it looks notting like the hard drive on the right in the picture and a little more like the one on the left.
( this PC is 5 -7 years old, I got it second hand)

The PC is a HP pavilion and wow is it a bitch to try to get the dam hard drive out of it,I can only hope that the new hard drive will even fit.
What does a sata cable look like ?
One red wire and one black wire go into the hard drive from the motherboard.

It sounds like a SATA drive so you should be ok, if you're still not sure then take a picture and post it?

This is what a SATA cable looks like.

You are using SATA then :)

it also seems like you have a spare slot for that HDD you mentioned in your first post, you should be good to go.

Thanks, I know how you feel about waiting, I still remember building my old athlon 64 system years ago, I had to wait months for each upgrade as a paper round was funding it all :D. Was painful I must admit.

I don't have a Job or anything what so ever to do, so I am bored day in day out and almost all of my money is going towards the new PC.
the boredom it is horrible.

So how has your system been so far ? I bet its works like a dream. :)
I can't wait to get my new rig.

The wonders that a job can do.. ;)

System is running very well thanks.

I am going to start a Job hunt very soon , it beats sitting around all day playing old dated games and scratching my bum. lol
This may be a stupid question and I know the answer but , does your 690 max out everything ?
And why 32 gigs of ram if I may ask ?
My new rig will have 16 GBs and a 680 , people are screaming "over kill" at me.
I know what I want though.
