Hey guys!

Was proper hyped for this monitor as soon as i saw it on sale for last weeks sale so immediately put a pre-order on. Mine arrived today, as well as a few other here on the forum.

Mine seems to have a very bright IPS glow spot on the bottom left corner. Is this an acceptable amount of glow? First night with it so i'll see how i get on but it was noticeable even during today's bright day when i set it up initially ( using chrome dark mode mainly and explorer dark mode )

How is everyone else units from this batch sent out late june?

Received mine today and mine is exactly the same as yours and I don't think its to bad as i have a lot worse.

As long as its not visible when gaming, all ips has some kind of bleed its just part of the tech.

Yeah i've turned the brightness down a bunch, will turn it down more maybe to 35ish which is what i had on my old Acer TN panel , otherwise white webpages make my eye melt :D:D so far so good though! loving this thing!

Dam, after all my hours of research I was just about to buy this Monitor, the best price s on here and then I saw this thread.

If I buy the monitor I might get one thats been returned for this issue, if I do how long can I try it out for before returning it if it's too bad. A couple of days is all I would need to test it so would they take it back?

I'm sure their policy says 14 days from day of delivery to RMA and 30 days for a refund i think. to be honest in games and most content with my brightness at 55% i couldn't notice the glow, lowered it to 45% and even less noticeable even in dark scenes and the display is still plenty bright.

Thanks, tbh I think I can live with it because I see all IPS monitors suffer from this some better than others. If it was that bad in reality they wouldn't sell any so I might still take the plunge.

I have a thread running regarding curved screens though so will see what that yields first.

As said most IPS monitors have it to some extent. First thing, make sure the brightness is at a normal level. Most monitors come at ‘nuclear explosion’ brightness settings so when you see them in a brightly lit shop floor they look amazing but are way too bright. Then make sure you’re sitting correctly as it can look worse at different angles. I know my Alienware AW3418DW is notorious for having some bottom left. Every pic I’ve seen of one has it but it’s not obtrusive in any way.

If you buy new and not from clearance or B-stock you should get a new one. If you don’t send it back and insist on a new one. That’s what you’ve paid for.
