News in, Barcelona B3s are just fine. B3 = end of 65nm for AMD.

what does it clock to and how much did you pay for it ? :) i want one myself but not unless i can match my current clocks of 2.95Ghz per core.
i payed £135.. i clocked it to 2.5ghz @ 1.3v i haven't tryed higher yet but im guessing it can easyly do more.. when i have time i will clock it more...

I don't think you should gess going from 2.5-3.0Ghz is very hard if not impossible on air for a phenom

the temps was only 38c load at 2.5ghz.. which is only 6c more than stock..

the max temp of a phenom 9500 is 70c, so i would keep the temps under 55c

Yer but many reviews have shown, that the temps sky rocket as it needs a lot of voltage to get it to hit 3ghz.

Gareth, instead of arguing, you have the phemon, you know how to overclock, prove that you can get to 3Ghz with temps not sky rocketing and also not needing mega high voltages.

my point is where did i say anything about 3ghz???? show me where...

all i said was "i clocked it to 2.5ghz @ 1.3v i haven't tryed higher yet but im guessing it can easyly do more" "the temps was only 38c load at 2.5ghz.. which is only 6c more than stock..

as u can see i didn't say how muchmore, even didn't say about 3ghz..

grrrr crazy people....

You replied to a 3ghz quote with your 2.8ghz malarky

yes i said 2.8ghz i've never said anything about 3ghz

Give the lad a break fella's. At least he had some balls to try a phenom and clock it.

And Will, please stop baiting, he said he'll try clocking it further it when he has time.

Lastly, we know the current phenoms won't clock as far as c2d's quads, so just get over it. At least they DO clock at all.

Matthew

Well I got it to boot at 3.6GHz, but that was with 1.55v on air and temps were... interesting. ;)

Shame you're running Vista eating up all that ram!

For benchmarks I can run it at 3.5GHz no probs, but for everyday use 3.4GHz with tight memory is PLENTY. :)

Yours certainly is! Nice rig, do you have a 3dMark06 score to compare to?

I've an eye on a 5000+BE if my current chip won't make it above 3Ghz.

I'll try and run you one off later, I think I get roughly 12k but can't remember...
